The expedition began in the buzzing heart of Marrakech, before heading into the remote beauty of the High Atlas Mountains. Over five days, the team covered over 70km, climbed to elevations of 2,000 metres, and passed through tiny Berber villages, cherry orchards, mountain springs, and even a waterfall.
Here’s a quick look at the challenge they took on:
Day 1: Marrakech – cultural sights, souks, and last-minute prep.
Day 2: Trek begins from Imi Oughlad to Tiziane (12km, 650m ascent).
Day 3: Through orchards and valleys to D’knt (15km, 600m ascent).
Day 4: The toughest stretch – 1,000m climb to Tamsoult (17km).
Day 5: Waterfalls and the Tizi n Mzik pass (13km), then back to Marrakech.
Day 6: Homebound, with memories and aching legs in tow.
The trek was tough... steep climbs, high altitudes, and long days on the trail. But every step was powered by the purpose behind the challenge: to help children in South Yorkshire who are living in poverty, facing illness, or dealing with additional needs.
At the time of writing, we’ve raised almost £4,000... and we’re not done yet!
These funds will go directly to Cash for Kids, helping to provide essentials like warm winter coats, school shoes, food parcels, and even beds for children who would otherwise go without. It’s a cause close to our hearts, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us.
| “Every step we took was for them — and knowing that made every hill easier to climb.”
We documented the journey on our Facebook page, sharing behind-the-scenes photos, team videos, and live updates. The support from our community was phenomenal and reminded us why we do what we do.
There’s still time to show your support. If you’d like to donate, you can do so here:
